The Mycology Division aims to improve the outcomes of people affected by serious, life-threatening fungal diseases in South Africa and the African region through public health-focused epidemiological, clinical, and basic science research and innovation
It currently runs several clinical trials and research projects
As part of ongoing core and nested work, the Division seeks to appoint a Project Administrator to participate in several vital roles and assist in realizing the vision of the Division
Main purpose of the job:
The incumbent will support the Fungal Surveillance project in the Southern African region, provide cross-cover for other Mycology Division projects, and contribute towards effective management of all these projects
Location:
NICD - Sandringham, Johannesburg
Key performance areas:
Preparation and Maintenance of project documents and trial Essential Documents
Support Principal Investigators and project staff with administrative functions
Compile study documents
Track and keep records of trial documents
Liaise with trial stakeholders
Assist with staff travel bookings
Study communication including preparing newsletters and presentations
Arrange meetings, maintain logistics for in-person meetings, and take minutes
Financial administration such as processing invoices, obtaining quotes, and reconciling expenses
Required minimum education and training:
Grade 12
Basic Financial knowledge (Bookkeeping)
Required minimum work experience:
2 - 5 years experience working in an Academic Research Unit or working experience in an NGO in the health field
Desirable additional education, work experience, and personal abilities:
Good Clinical Practice (GCP) would be an advantage
Bachelors Degree in Medical Science or similar
Strong administration experience
Able to work in a multi-disciplinary team
Good written and spoken communication skills
