The project, USAID South Africa ACCELERATE 1 (TB High Burden), whereby mothers2mothers (m2) is a sub-awardee under the Aurum Institute, aims to accelerate TB elimination through targeted technical support at the national level and tailored technical and direct support at the provincial and district levels, within communities and respective health care facilities where the TB burden is high, namely Gauteng (Tshwane and Sedibeng districts), and KwaZulu- Natal (Amajuba and UThukela districts).
The Project and M&E Officer is responsible for the effective leadership and management of the district teams in line with the project objectives, budget and timelines. This includes overseeing, planning, management and implementation of activities by the members of the team, the day-to-day management of all operations and interactions within the project. The Project and M&E Officer will be responsible for coordinating all aspects of the project's M&E activities, including establishing and maintaining site level data quality and data management; overseeing routine data collection, entry, analysis, reporting and filing; building capacity of site level and provincial program staff on data use for decision making and use of electronic tools; working with provincial partners; and donor reporting, including adaptation of tools to facilitate reporting on required indicators.
This position requires extensive TB programming experience, deep understanding of the public health system, Monitoring and Evaluation experience, quality improvement knowledge and experience, as well as excellent analytical, interpersonal, organizational, communication skills and the ability to exercise own discretion, and the ability to strengthen good relationships with all internal and external stakeholders.
The position will be based in Uthukela district, and reports to the Program Manager and Senior SI Coordinator
