Provide project coordination support to the project managers at SBIMB
Location:
Sydney Brenner Institute for Molecular Bioscience, 9 Jubilee Road, Parktown, Johannesburg
Key performance areas:
Responsible, together with the project managers, for the coordination and management of all administration and budget aspects of the project
Ensure project management and administration operates within the requirements of WHC and the donor requirements stakeholder liaison
Effective communication between key stakeholders on the projects, leadership team and other partners
Provide support to the project managers at the SBIMB in managing activities related to events, symposiums, travel, workshops, social media management and other as required
Management of suppliers with regards to travel logistics
Assisting with events cost estimates and recons
Together with the PM, assist with delivering project events, such as research collaboration meetings, road-mapping workshops, and seminars, and coordinate appropriate publicity
Required minimum education and training:
Bachelor's Degree OR equivalent level of professional qualifications and/or experience.
Project coordination training and/or financial/grant management would be an advantage.
High level of computer literacy including proficiency in MS Programmes
Required minimum work experience:
Minimum 5 -10 years' experience in a similar role in a research and educational environment
Desirable additional education, work experience and personal abilities:
Some demonstrated project coordination experience
Good verbal and written communication skills with a variety of stakeholders and students
Sound knowledge of financial oversight procedures (and knowledge of or willingness to learn Wit's systems) and the fundraising environment
Excellent organisational skills and the ability to work independently and under pressure in a small team Excellent facilitation, inter-personal and communication skills
Effective time management and general management
Ability to communicate with stakeholders of different seniority and maintain and develop good relationships with all SBIMB stakeholders
Social media experience (LinkedIn, X/Twitter, Facebook)
Website design
Design skills (for the design of flyers and other events-related collateral)
A willingness to travel locally and within Africa
