This exciting opportunity exists to provide management and operations with a cost-effective and efficient purchasing service. The role includes obtaining the best prices and sourcing items for mechanical and electrical equipment lists, spares lists, and Bill of Quantities (BOQs).
RESPONSIBILITIES
Reporting
Prepare and present monthly/weekly reports and identify trends and potential cost savings.
Control and Budgeting
Comply with best-practice procurement processes, policies, and procedures in line with business requirements, ensuring optimal use of Sage X3.
Adhere to all procurement processes to ensure compliance with statutory requirements and Fraser Alexander policies and procedures.
Ensure continuous improvement of Fraser Alexander processes, policies, and procedures.
Adhere to defined processes, policies, and procedures.
Supplier Management
Identify the best suppliers based on business requirements.
Ensure efficient and effective relationships with key suppliers.
Assist in negotiating the best prices and contract/purchasing terms with key suppliers.
Resolve supplier-related issues promptly.
BBBEE
Ensure compliance with the Fraser Alexander BBBEE platform.
Maintain the BBBEE database.
Identify expired accreditations.
Assist with required BBBEE reporting.
Stakeholder management
Manage business relationships with excellence.
Establish a level of influence and credibility with key stakeholders to ensure smooth group procurement services.
Comply with SLA terms.
Work and collaborate with all other areas of Financial Shared Services.
Purchasing
Ensure the correct information is provided on requisitions.
Obtain quotes as per the authorisation framework.
Liaise with operations/Site Administrators/project teams on quotation approval.
Issue order numbers to the supplier.
Placing of orders.
Contract Pricing
Manage and maintain contract pricing.
Vendor Management
Ensure proper vendor management is in place and effectively executed.
Expediting
Identify long outstanding orders.
Follow up on and resolve issues.
QUALIFICATIONS
Grade 12
National Diploma or BTech in Mechanical or Industrial Engineering.
National Diploma in Procurement and Supply Chain Management or equivalent will be advantageous.
EXPERIENCE
A Minimum of 5 years experience in a buying work environment.
Experience in the Mining, Mechanical, Construction, and/or logistic environment will be advantageous.
SKILLS, QUALITIES AND ABILITIES REQUIRED
Quality Assurance/Quality Control for Data Packs.
Packing Lists.
Commercial Invoices.
Medically fit as per company standards.
Valid Driver's License and own vehicle.
