Job Description

The Project Coordinator will support the Development Project Manager in all aspects of project management within the Project Development Business Unit. This role requires assisting in project initiation, planning, executing, monitoring and closing. The candidate will be responsible for ensuring to project timelines and budgets for Greenfields, Brownfields and Financial Close projects, and where required bid coordination with Business Development. The ideal candidate must have strong organizational skills, a passion for Renewable Energy, and the ability to thrive in a dynamic, interdisciplinary team environment.

Requirements



Responsibilities:



The Project Co-ordinator shall perform the following responsibilities in respect of:


1.Developing Greenfields solar, wind and Battery Energy Storage projects (BESS).


2.Due diligences and acquisitions of brownfields solar, wind & BESS projects.


3.Achieving financial closes for solar, wind & BESS projects under commercial & industrial and REIPPP programmes.

Project Coordination and Support:



Assist in coordinating project activities and resources both internal (Project Engineers, Investment finance personnel, Project Developers) and external (Service Providers, Stakeholder Managers) to ensure timely completion of tasks. Support the Development Project Manager in monitoring project progress and identifying potential risks or delays. Maintain project documentation, including meeting minutes, project trackers, Project templates, project plans, progress reports, and correspondence. Assist the Development Project Manager to create and update project schedules on Microsoft MS projects and Basecamp.

Stakeholder Management:



Liaise with internal teams, subcontractors, suppliers, and regulatory authorities as directed by the Development Project Manager to drive project outcomes. Support in maintaining effective communication channels to address stakeholder inquiries and concerns. Assist in managing client interface and key stakeholder relationships within client organizations. Collate and maintain a stakeholder engagement plan for project development team (Key contacts at competent authorities, local and provincial government, private landowners, etc.)

Project Planning and Execution:



Assist in developing business case, project charter, Project Review Committee (PRC) submissions. Assist in managing key project milestones and critical path activities using project management tools (e.g., MS Project). Support in managing project budgets and ensuring projects are delivered within budgetary constraints. Assist in developing and maintaining risk registers per project.

Industry Knowledge and Reporting:



Stay updated with industry policies, legislation, and market trends affecting project development. Support in tracking project pipeline and competitors in the market. Assist in bid preparation and coordination to ensure compliant bids.

Desired Skills & Qualifications



Bachelor's or Advanced Diploma in Engineering, Built Environment or a related field (essential/minimum). 2 - 3years of relevant work experience, preferably in Renewable Energy, Mining or EPC construction (essential/minimum). Familiarity with project management tools and methodologies is desirable. Strong communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills (essential/minimum). Proficiency in MS Word, PowerPoint, Projects, and Excel (essential/minimum) Ability to work effectively in a team environment and multitask in a fast-paced setting (essential/minimum). Exposure to Project Management Body of Knowledge PMBOK (essential/minimum). Knowledge of RE project development processes (Advantageous or desired). Knowledge of Grid Engineering activities within the development process (Advantageous or desired)
