Project Engineer - Cape TownFull job descriptionJob Summary: The Project Engineer will be responsible for planning, coordinating, and executing projects from conception to completion. This role requires a strong technical background, excellent organizational skills, and the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously. The successful candidate will work closely with cross-functional teams, including design, procurement, and construction, to ensure projects are completed on time, within scope, and within budget.Key Responsibilities:Project Planning and Coordination:Develop and manage detailed project plans, schedules, and budgets.Coordinate with internal and external stakeholders to define project requirements and scope.Identify and mitigate project risks and issues.Technical Execution:Provide technical guidance and support to the various project teams.Review and implement engineering designs, specifications, and drawings.Ensure compliance with industry standards, codes, and regulations.Project Execution:Oversee the day-to-day operations of projects, ensuring adherence to schedules and budgets.Conduct regular site visits and inspections to monitor progress and quality.Manage subcontractors and suppliers, ensuring timely delivery of materials and services.Communication and Reporting:Maintain effective communication with clients, stakeholders, and team members.Prepare and present project status reports, including progress, costs, and risks.Facilitate project meetings and ensure timely resolution of issues.Continuous Improvement:Implement best practices and lessons learned from previous projects.Identify opportunities for process improvements and cost savings.Promote a culture of safety and continuous improvement within the project team.Qualifications:Bachelors degree in engineering (Process, Mechanical, or related field).Between 0-3 years of experience in project engineering or project management.Strong knowledge of engineering principles, construction methods, and project management methodologies.Proficiency in project management software (e.g., MS Project).Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.Strong interpersonal and communication skills.Ability to work effectively in a team environment and manage multiple priorities.Knowledge of water and wastewater related processes, technology and infrastructure advantageous.Job Type: Full-timePay: R20 000,00 - R25 000,00 per monthAbility to commute/relocate:Cape Town, Western Cape: Reliably commute or planning to relocate before starting work (Required)Application Question(s):Does working in a start-up environment excite you?
