Job Description

Our client, a leading supplier of intelligent energy interconnection products and services, is seeking a dynamic and experienced Project Engineer to join their team. This role reports to the General Manager of Engineering.Key Performance Areas and Duties:

• Interpret customer tender technical specifications, conduct preliminary designs, and prepare and cost the technical portion of bids, including bill of quantity estimation and technical support for tendering.
• Design project-specific requirements, including specifying required cables and sourcing various components.
• Advise on and review construction methods, manpower, and equipment plans for projects.
• Conduct or manage specialist outsourced studies and designs as needed, such as Finite Element Analysis, Transient Analysis, and consulting services.
• Investigate, analyze, and resolve project technical issues.
• Support and participate in commissioning activities and conduct acceptance testing with the customer (Factory, Site, and Performance testing).
• Provide input for technical quality assurance (QCPxe2x80x99s, ITPxe2x80x99s) and ensure technical quality is achieved, including technical assurance on subcontractor works.
• Prepare SLDs, layout, and sections for HV electrical systems, including substations, overhead lines, and HV cables.
• Participate in marketing activities and customer interfaces as needed, and engage in industry body activities to promote the company's presence.
• Ensure compliance with all aspects of SHEQ.
• Ensure all work meets accuracy and safety standards.
• Review and ensure the quality of all project technical documentation.
• Manage and control engineering changes on the project.

Minimum Requirements:

• Diploma/Degree in Electrical Engineering.
• At least 5 years of experience as a Project Engineer.
• Registration as a Professional Engineer/Technician is advantageous.
• Knowledge of Engineering Software.
• Knowledge of cabling, substations, overhead lines, renewable energy technology, and construction.
• Knowledge of cable accessories selection and specifications.

Skills and Competencies:

• Proficiency in MS Office Package (MS Projects, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.).
• Excellent planning, prioritizing, and organizing skills.
• Costing and understanding of technical contracts.
• Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work under pressure and extended hours.
• Good interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to interact with internal and external parties.
• Good people skills.
• Willingness for extended site visits and regular business travel, with an average of 2 weeks per month being site-based.
