To identify and prevent risks of process/design deviation affecting safety, integrity, and availability.Formal EducationGrade 12Bachelors Degree in EngineeringRecruitment Description / Key AccountabilitiesProject Management Guidelines: Execution Requirements: Responsible for the execution of capital projects and tasks that extend beyond 24 hours. Ensure tasks impacting significant parts of the Mine, especially during shutdown periods, are meticulously planned and executed. Scope of the Project: Develop and maintain a detailed project plan that outlines critical paths and integrates all necessary activities. Establish clear timelines for the scope of work. Identify and allocate necessary resources. Conduct comprehensive risk identification and assessment for each project or task. Determine affected areas and document them accordingly. Identify High-Risk Work (HRW) and ensure registration in the HRW verification system. Appoint individuals responsible for verifying HRW. Prepare a detailed assurance plan for the project. Attach relevant risk assessments and necessary permits. Ensure compliance with all applicable Codes of Practice (COPs), Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), and standards. Project Plan Approval: Project plan compiled by the Project Engineer. Reviewed by the Integration team. Final approval and sign-off by the Section Head and/or Head of Department. Work Management Process: Ensure strict adherence to the project plan by integrating it into the Work Block Schedule and/or other approved tracking systems (e.g., Microsoft Projects, VPC, SAP). Change Management: o Implement and oversee the change management process for any alterations in the scope of work, risks, etc., within projects or tasks. Classify changes as Major, Moderate, or Minor, and manage them accordingly: Major changes: Significant risks or crises that could impact safety, health, environment, or production. Moderate changes: Manageable changes that remain within reasonable tolerances with limited risk. Minor changes: Minimal or no potential risk to safety, health, environment, or production. Additional Accountabilities for Capital Projects: Identify projects to be completed for at least three financial years, looking ahead at the current mine plan. Conduct risk ranking and apply ISO31000 Risk Management processes. Apply for capital approval, understanding the Delegation of Authority (DOA) of a capital project and when the DOA will change. Ensure the scope of work aligns with the project and utilize project management principles when placing Purchase Requisitions. Supporting Process Engineering Strategy: Define OWAP and optimum operating window for the value chain. Monitor and identify improvement opportunities to ensure operation within the OWAP. Translate loss accounting into improvement plans. Monitor and interpret performance on technical drivers, constraints, and levers on value chain level, considering upstream and downstream units. Support shutdowns with respect to value chain integration, idea generation, and process equipment integrity. Monitor adherence to and effectiveness of VPP. Analyse the effectiveness of data provided for production planning and scheduling processes. Report value chain and system heat maps, losses, and integrity concerns. Assimilate and contextualize data for input into improvement initiatives through technical investigations via the asset management process. Understand optimum operating windows, deviations, and preventative measures. Ensure process integrity of equipment inspections and recommend improvement opportunities during shutdowns. Improve plant reliability, volume, and unit cost. Ensure value chain basic documentation and systems are in place and at the required standard. Give input into Technical Hazops, PFD, and MFD reviews. Provide process engineering support and input for small project process design.
