NOV South Africa is seeking a dedicated Riser Project Engineer to be part of our dynamic team in Gqeberha. In this role, you will oversee the successful execution of Riser Inspection and Repair Projects, ensuring excellence from initial quoting to final delivery. Your responsibilities will encompass both facility-based and remote projects.
Key Responsibilities:
Apply sound project management principles to all Riser Inspection and Repair Projects.
Ensure all customer equipment is inspected and repaired according to the correct procedures and standards.
Create Cost Price Analysis (CPAs) to support accurate costing and quotes.
Follow order management processes and provide customer quotes/proposals as required.
Develop and manage project plans, including timelines, resource/tooling requirements, and risk mitigation strategies.
Track customer quotations, purchase orders, project costs, and variation orders throughout the project lifecycle.
Create, revise, and update Scope of Work and Quality Plan documents as needed.
Interpret and understand engineering drawings, specifications, work instructions, and reports.
Manage vendor purchase orders for parts, tools, and services for both internal and external customers.
Travel to customer or remote sites to oversee projects and provide site support.
Provide progress reports for ongoing projects and facilitate engineering dispositions/support for inspected items.
Document project activities, decisions, and lessons learned to ensure continuous improvement.
Qualifications:
A tertiary qualification in Engineering is preferred. However, candidates with other technical qualifications coupled with relevant experience or future studies will also be considered.
Experience:
Minimum of 5 years of experience in a service/repair environment.
Previous experience in inspection/repairs, including welding, NDT, and machining, is advantageous.
Experience in the Oil & Gas industry, particularly with Marine Risers, is ideal.
Skills and Competencies:
Highly detail-oriented and organized.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
Ability to work independently with a thorough understanding of the oilfield business and customer requirements.
Strong financial acumen and customer focus.
Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, and Outlook.
