Job Summary Our client based in Richards Bay is looking for a Project & Engineering Manager that will ensure all projects are delivered safely, within the agreed scope, time, cost and quality. Main job function This role will oversee the portfolio of projects and engineering, providing expert knowledge and support and monitoring progress as well as reporting on various departmental statuses. This role will also ensure that project and engineering resources are efficiently allocated and have the correct tools and processes in place and those resources are trained and equipped to deliver successfully. This position includes regular travel to Mozambique. Manage the day-to-day activities of the Project and Engineering departments. Manage to ensure that projects are delivered; without injuries or breach of HSE rules and regulations, on-time, as per scope/specification, to high quality standards, within budget. Manage the Project and Engineering teams and provide performance feedback and goal-setting; conducts annual performance reviews and skills development and training. Further requirements include technical assistance/audits and marketing of products and services to the client. Overall management of the Engineering department ensuring that we are working on the correct priorities for the company. Manager to involve himself/herself as required to meet deadlines. Final approval of drawings Review and approval of Engineering and/or ISO standards, processes and procedures Review and approval of scope of works Review and approval of quality control plans Participate in NCR investigations and meetings when required Ensure monthly timesheets for all are submitted by required due date Qualifications Qualification in Project and/or Engineering Management Experience/Criteria Years practical experience in the projects/engineering management fields. 2 Years experience in an aluminium / manufacturing environment. Technical knowledge of Fives equipment used in aluminium industry. Proven working experience in project and/or engineering management and organisational skills Excellent client-facing and internal communication skills. Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office, including Microsoft Projects. Strong financial comprehension pertaining to budgets and job costing. Good understanding of principles of health, safety, environmental and quality in the workplace. A Consultant will be in touch if you are shortlisted for the position.
