We have an exciting opportunity for a Project Personnel with experience in multi-disciplinary capital projects from concept to completion. This vacancy will be based in Richards Bay and Mozambique.

We are seeking a versatile and experienced project personnel to lead and oversee various aspects of engineering projects within our organization. The various roles available include the following:

Ideal candidates will have a strong technical background, excellent project management skills, and a proven track record of successfully delivering projects on time and within budget.

Overview of Responsibilities:

1. Project Planning: Develop comprehensive project plans, including scope definition, resource allocation, budgeting, scheduling, and risk assessment. Collaborate with stakeholders to define project objectives and ensure alignment with organizational goals.

2. Capital Projects Management: Manage capital projects from inception to completion, including feasibility analysis, cost estimation, procurement, and execution. Coordinate with cross-functional teams to ensure timely and successful project delivery.

3. Estimating: Prepare accurate cost estimates for engineering projects, considering factors such as labour, materials, equipment, and overhead costs. Review project specifications and drawings to identify potential cost-saving opportunities and mitigate risks.

4. Design Coordination: Coordinate engineering design activities, including concept development, detailed design, and engineering analysis. Liaise with internal design teams, external consultants, and contractors to ensure design integrity and compliance with project requirements.

5. Project Engineering: Serve as the primary technical point of contact for engineering projects, providing technical expertise, guidance, and support throughout the project lifecycle. Resolve technical issues, address design changes, and ensure adherence to engineering standards and best practices.

6. Project Management: Lead project teams effectively, fostering collaboration, communication, and accountability. Monitor project progress, track key performance indicators, and implement corrective actions as needed to ensure project milestones are achieved on time and within budget.

7. Risk Management: Identify potential risks and uncertainties associated with engineering projects and develop mitigation strategies to minimize their impact on project outcomes. Proactively address project risks through effective risk assessment, contingency planning, and risk monitoring.

8. Stakeholder Communication: Maintain regular communication with project stakeholders, including senior management, clients, vendors, and regulatory agencies. Provide timely updates on project status, milestones, risks, and issues, and solicit feedback to ensure stakeholder satisfaction.

Knowledge, skills and experience:

xc2xb7 Minimum of 5 years engineering/capital project management experience in heavy industry

xc2xb7 Familiar with the project lifecycle process from need identification through conceptualization, engineering, detail design, fabrication, manufacturing, testing, commissioning and handover

Qualifications:

- Bachelors degree or diploma in Engineering or related field; Masters degree or professional certification (e.g.,Pr Eng; PMP, ECSA Registration) preferred.

- Proven experience in project management, capital projects management, and engineering design.

- Proficiency in project management software tools (e.g., MS Project, Primavera) and engineering design software (e.g., AutoCAD, SolidWorks).

- Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and prioritize tasks effectively.

- Experience in metals, mineral processing, construction and mining in heavy industrial sectors advantages.
