To provide a strategic professional and specialist service for the finance, pensions & major Projects unit and its functions through providing strategic direction to the cluster in terms of planning and policy development in alignment with IDP.
Key Responsibility AreasFormulates a strategic business case to support the alignment of the Unit with Current and
future economic trends, in alignment with the Citys IDP.
Provide professional expertise in the performance of the Unit
Directs critical processes associated with the development of programmes and project for
sustainability of interventions.
Provides strategic corporate advise in relation to the financial impact of contract and other
legal documents.
Provide strategic corporate advise to access the financial viability, sustainability and
government arrangements of the municipal entities, joint ventures, trusts and partnerships in relation to the municipality.
Devising and reacting to investment and financial schemes, loan schemes, lease-bank
schemes, development and lease schemes for the Municipality.CompetenciesAccounting.

Essential RequirementsTertiary qualification (NQF Level 7) in Accounting with Financial Accounting as a major subject or equivalent.
Project Management certificate.
Professional Registration within the field of Accounting or Finance.
Must be in possession of National Treasury MFMA minimum competency qualification (NQF
Level 6) OR Must obtain a National Treasury MFMA minimum competency qualification (NQF Level 6) within 18 months of date of appointment.
Valid motor vehicle driving license
6 Years relevant experience.
Computer Literacy.
Preferred RequirementsPost graduate qualification (NQF Level 8) in Accounting with Financial Accounting as a major
subject or equivalent.
7 Years relevant experience.
