Project Finance Controller - Cape TownFull job descriptionWho You'll Work WithYou will be based in our Johannesburg office as an integral member of our Africa, Eastern Europe, and Middle East (EEMA) Finance & Accounting team.You will support client service teams and the office leadership with managing the economics of our client engagements. You will work closely with partners, office leadership, and multiple internal clients, and you will report directly to the Manager of Finance & Accounting.What You'll DoIn this role, you will support client service teams and the office with managing the economics of our Lagos, Kenya, and Angola client engagements throughout the full engagement lifecycle (review client engagements for appropriate budget and setup, monthly monitoring of revenue, fees and expenses, and billing/accounts receivable). You will also analyze and provide reasoning for variances, forecast, and make appropriate recommendations.You will provide general analytical support to the finance & accounting function across a broad range of areas. You will perform daily activities for the Client Finance team, with responsibilities primarily in WIP (Work in Progress) and accounts receivable (A/R) management, including billing, collections, and pricing analytics.Your responsibilities will be to ensure minimizing revenue leakage and ensure revenue integrity for EEMA through month-end revenue reconciliation against staffing records, monthly revenue reversal analysis, etc., implement new and streamlining existing procedures and ensure compliance with established revenue recognition policies. You will use financial reporting systems to create, manage, and distribute regular monthly financial reports for office/function and effectively communicate results to office/function leaders.Furthermore, you should also respond to colleagues inquiries on financial policies and tools (e.g., expense reporting tool); provide training on relevant tools, as appropriate and serve as a liaison between local administrative personnel and shared service centers, as appropriate. You will also perform ad-hoc analyses and provide regional/global special project support as needed.QualificationsBachelor's degree, ideally in accounting or finance; CPA or MBA considered a plus3+ years of experience ideally in a professional service environmentAdvanced knowledge of Microsoft Excel and working knowledge of other Microsoft Office softwareSpecialized functional knowledge as relevant (e.g., finance, accounting, audit, cash management, tax) and strong knowledge of finance systemsExcellent organizational ability and keen attention to detailAbility to prioritize and manage multiple tasksAbility to perform well under pressure and meet time-sensitive deadlinesExcellent analytic thinking and problem-solving skillsStrong interpersonal and communication skillsExcellent team skills and customer service attitudeAbility to maintain confidential informationFluent knowledge of English, both verbal and written
