This role involves making key decisions to ensure project progress and leading global production footprint projects, such as product transfers and expansions.Key responsibilities include:

  • Leading the project team in a collaborative, cross-functional environment.
  • Keeping stakeholders and the steering committee updated on project status and challenges.
  • Proactively identifying and resolving issues to ensure successful project outcomes.
  • Continuously improving project methodologies and processes.
  • Striving for project excellence in terms of time to market, cost, and customer value.
The role emphasizes innovation, customer-centricity, and effective communication to ensure the project team's success and safety.Main Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Lead New Product Development projects with a cross functional team and customer representation when applicable, from to project start to product launch
  • Lead Production expansion and global footprint projects in cooperation with Global Operations Developer
  • Prepare and recommend PSG decisions for Project Council decisions
  • Together with Project Sponsor develop scope and business case to support the PSG decision
  • Accountable for the development and management of detailed scope of work, budget, and project plans with identifiable critical path, task dependencies, and major milestones.
  • Develop and execute communication plan for each project, ensuring proper stakeholder engagement
  • Serve as primary point of contact for all project stakeholders and communicate information at the right time, to the right audience
  • Prepare Project Gate decisions
  • Conduct Risk Assessment for each project opportunity to help prioritize work and mitigate risks for work that is activated, involving Project Sponsor and Steering Committee when applicable.
  • Work with resources and sub-projects across multiple departments to proactively manage tasks and analyse and resolve project roadblocks.
  • Ensure that project closing and learning is documented and shared to make recommendations for process improvement opportunities, ideas to accelerate projects, and other ways to improve the project executing and project results
  • Prioritize and communicate to meet and exceed project deadlines and commitments.
  • Identify critical tasks and makes decisions on appropriate prioritization.
  • Ensuring the team remains focused and on track, including addressing any conflicts or bottlenecks
  • Deliver project financial outputs and forecasts including capitalization
  • Work with continuous improvements to secure operational excellence is achieved in all areas of responsibility
  • Provides monthly project status updates
  • Work for an open and collaborative culture within the teams and with other departments, functions and divisions
  • Ensuring the safety and wellbeing of yourself and project team.
  • Highly motivated, "hands on", energized, enthusiastic with passion and commitment for doing things in the right way without risking loss of business

Competence, Skills and Experience:
  • Min 5 years' product development experience in mining equipment
  • Proven ability to build efficient project teams
  • A safety-first and collaboration mentality
  • Courageous leadership, customer centric and challenging the status quo
  • Creative problem-solving capabilities, ability to think beyond how things have been done to how they can be optimized for efficiency/benefit
  • Ability to navigate within complex topics - understand the big picture while also being able to dive into the details
  • Ability to manage projects with large development scope including many interdependencies
  • Excellent ability to influence stakeholders, and to engage and inspire a project team
  • Experience managing cost and / or budgets
  • Knowledge and experience in R&D tools, methods and processes
  • Strong written and verbal communications; fluency in English, additional languages an asset
Educational Qualifications:
  • Project Management qualification
  • Engineering qualification (Advantageous)
Behaviours:
  • You have experience from, or interest in, lead through others
  • Experience working in complex, interdisciplinary, cross-functional and global projects
  • Knowledge and experience in product- and technology development
  • Underground mining application- and products knowledge seen as an asset
  • Adequate education for the role, technical, commercial, project management etc
