We offer a highly diverse, professional and supportive environment with opportunities for development and growth.Description:Overview of Duties:The incumbent will report to the lab PI and is responsible for day-to-day management and oversight of research projects and activities including experimental design, implementation and management of a technical team. The incumbent will also be responsible for co- supervision of students and work closely with internal and external collaborators and funding organizations to organize meetings and reports. The incumbent will work with the PI in the financial oversight and management of the grant.Overview of duties

  • Managing and coordinating an AHRI human TB tissue repository.
  • Management and oversight of human tissue-based laboratory operations, budgets, facilities, record keeping and inventory.
  • Writing and submission of scientific publications, grants and progress reports.
  • Overall research administration and reporting.
  • Liaise with diverse clinical scientists, collaborators and funders.
  • Attend select scientific conferences.
Minimum Qualifications
  • Masters in Biochemistry, microbiology, infectious disease, cell biology, or related field
Minimum Experience
  • 3-5 years of Mycobacterium tuberculosis research experience required.
  • Established track record in writing publications, conference abstracts, and assisting with research grants.
  • Highly experienced in experimental approaches to study Mycobacterium tuberculosis including the study of Mtb bioenergetics (extracellular flux analyzer).
  • Proven experience in performing research in an internationally competitive translational science TB laboratory.
  • Proven experience in managing, coordinating and administering scientific research projects.
  • Proven experience interacting and liaising with clinical teams.
  • Proven experience obtaining ethics approval and working with ethics committees.
Skills Required
  • Good verbal and written communication skills in English.
  • Accuracy and precision.
  • High computer literacy.
  • Report writing.
