Pepkor Speciality is looking for a Project Manager to join our Store Development team based in Johannesburg. This team plays a crucial role in shaping our retail landscape by overseeing the construction of new stores across our diverse range of retail brands.The Project Manager will be responsible for ensuring that all store specifications are met during the building process. This includes not only new store construction but also a wide range of store development projects, such as revamps, relocations, expansions, downsizing, and closures. The Project Manager will be expected to deliver these projects on time, within budget, and according to the agreed-upon specifications.
Qualifications

• Tertiary qualification in project management essential

• Must have a minimum of 3 to 5 years of experience in project management within Store Development specifically related to retail Store builds, revamps, enlargements or new stores
• Experience as a Project Manager within a construction environment is advantageous
• Experience in working with project budgets.
• A valid driver's licence is a requirement for travelling to various locations is critical requirement of this role.
• Negotiation skills
• Experience with basic financial principles related to building sites
• Knowledge of mathematical principles (e.g. Application of fractions; percentages; rations and proportions)
• MS Office proficiency/ Google
• Good communication and interpersonal skills
• Time management skills are essential to delivering on deadlines
• Planning and organizing skills
• Conflict Management

• Make recommendations on store layout on footprint received from PEPKOR Properties, for distribution to Brand Operations Executive and Brand Visual Manager for approval
• Prepare Capex and bill of quantity as per the approved footprint and the Board approved CAPEX.
• Identify suitable contractors as per the approved supplier list and verify quotations to prepare to cost document, including the proposed scope of work
• Prepare a flow chart with actions to indicate the project timeframe and responsibilities to get the store ready for trade.
• Conduct site visits and participate in the handover process with Pepkor Properties with respect to beneficial occupational date as per footprint and specification
• Project reporting inclusive of checking costings from suppliers, arranging necessary payments and reporting on completed projects to various stakeholders.
• Maintenance management on property maintenance issues or structural changes concerning buildings/stores.
• Meet all deadlines set on the project plan with specifications and agreed-upon budget.
• This position will be required to travel for the relevant stores and locations, therefore travel is a key requirement of the position
