Job Title: Project Planner Location: Richards Bay, KZNPosition Type: Fixed Term ContractJob Summary:The Project Planner will be responsible for developing, managing, and tracking project schedules for our heavy industrial manufacturing plant. This role is critical in ensuring that projects are completed on time, within budget, and to the required quality standards. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in project planning, excellent organizational skills, and a keen eye for detail.Key Responsibilities:xc2xb7 Develop detailed project schedules, including the identification of key milestones, deliverables, and resource requirements.xc2xb7 Coordinate with project managers, engineers, procurement teams, and other stakeholders to gather necessary information and updates.xc2xb7 Monitor project progress against the schedule, identifying and addressing any potential delays or issues.xc2xb7 Conduct regular schedule reviews and updates, ensuring all stakeholders are informed of any changes.xc2xb7 Prepare and present detailed project status reports, including timelines, risks, and issues to senior management.xc2xb7 Utilize project management software to maintain and track project schedules.xc2xb7 Assist in the development and implementation of project management best practices and procedures.xc2xb7 Collaborate with the procurement team to ensure timely delivery of materials and equipment.xc2xb7 Analyse project data to identify trends, risks, and opportunities for improvement.xc2xb7 Support the project team in risk management and mitigation planning.xc2xb7 Ensure compliance with all relevant safety regulations and company policies.Work Environment:xc2xb7 This position is based in a heavy industrial manufacturing plant.xc2xb7 Candidates must be able to work in a noisy, high-energy environment and comply with all safety regulations.xc2xb7 Occasional travel may be required to other facilities or project sites.***Note***This job specification is intended to convey information essential to understanding the scope of the Project Planner position and is not an exhaustive list of skills, duties, responsibilities, or working conditions associated with it.Qualifications/Requirements:xc2xb7 Bachelors degree in Engineering, Construction Management, Project Management, or a related field.xc2xb7 Minimum of 5 years of experience in project planning & scheduling within a heavy industrial manufacturing environment.xc2xb7 Proficiency in project management software such as Microsoft Project.xc2xb7 Strong understanding of project management principles, methodologies, and best practices.xc2xb7 Excellent organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills.xc2xb7 Ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams.xc2xb7 Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.xc2xb7 Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and prioritize tasks effectively.xc2xb7 Attention to detail and a high level of accuracy in work.Preferred Qualifications:xc2xb7 Certification in Project Management (PMP, PMI-SP, or equivalent).xc2xb7 Experience with Lean Manufacturing or Six Sigma methodologies.xc2xb7 Knowledge of industry-specific standards and regulations.
