Job Description


Ensure compliance with health, safety, environmental, and quality programs. Actively manage field services personnel & client communications. Provide feedback on customer service, safety, quality, project incentives, and training needs. Support growth objectives through successful project execution for scalability and efficiency. Liaise with project clients for safety, timelines, and identifying additional work opportunities.Minimum Requirements:- 5-10 years of progressive operations management experience.- 5+ years of site management experience preferred.- 10+ years of hands-on craftsmen management in small to medium projects.- Advantageous experience in Oil & Gas, Metals & Mining, and Power industries.- Willingness to travel, including internationally.Innovative solutions for energy, petrochemical, and paper industries addressing asset integrity, reliability, and efficiency challenges globally.   • Customer Service & Client Relations:
  • Provide high-quality customer service, ensuring 100% customer satisfaction regarding accuracy, timeliness, courtesy, and safety.
  • Manage and coordinate site and shop projects as needed.
  • Drive operations teams to focus on discovery scope during project execution.
  • Maintain efficient and effective communication with clients and operations personnel.
  • Project Management:
  • Manage the execution of projects, ensuring they align with scope and timelines.
  • Promote attention to project quality, profitability, and cost efficiency.
  • Ensure performance evaluations are completed for each project, taking corrective actions to improve operational efficiency when needed.
  • Conduct post-job reviews, including lessons learned meetings and reports.
  • Team Leadership:
  • Build and develop technician capacity and skill levels to support local and international needs.
  • Align regional operations with corporate practices and processes.
  • Train and develop the workforce, implementing plans to build qualified capacity.
  • Monitor team performance and mentor operations personnel, including project managers and team leaders.
  • Operational Efficiency & Resource Management:
  • Collaborate with Operations Managers to forecast workforce resource needs and implement plans to meet project demands.
  • Manage project workflows through site managers to ensure operational effectiveness and efficiency.
  • Ensure the efficient use of resources, minimize waste, and maintain profitability.
  • Safety & Compliance:
  • Ensure all site operations comply with safety standards and procedures.
  • Actively promote safe work practices and ensure compliance with customer-specific safety protocols.
  • Technical Expertise:
  • Provide technical input and advice on material and work scope for projects.
  • Ensure that all application processes and material usage are consistent with prescribed standards.
  • Visit job sites to communicate with personnel and drive accountability.
  • Business Development:
  • Identify potential upsell opportunities during project execution and network with clients for future opportunities.
  • Share project updates with sales and strategic leadership teams.

Education, Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
  • Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.
  • Hands-on approach to project management.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Leadership abilities with situational awareness for when to take directive or supportive roles.
  • Familiarity with MS Outlook, Word, and Excel.
  • Ability to work effectively in a team-based environment.
  • Knowledge of cost management and optimization techniques.
  • Ability to work in industrial environments.
Effort/Working Conditions:
  • Work in challenging environments, including refineries, paper mills, power plants, and mining sites across South Africa, other African countries, and internationally.
  • Long hours, often with 12-hour shifts, wearing full personal protective equipment.
  • Physical demands include moving in and out of confined spaces, working at heights, lifting up to 22 kg, and climbing ladders and stairs.
  • Extensive travel, typically for 3 months, with project durations ranging from 2-6 weeks, and potential international travel.
Minimum Requirements:
  • 5-10 years of progressive responsibility in operations management or equivalent experience.
  • 5+ years of experience in site management is advantageous.
  • 10+ years of hands-on management of craftsmen with proven track records in managing small to medium-sized projects preferred.
  • Experience in the Oil & Gas, Metals & Mining, and Power industries is advantageous.
  • Willingness and ability to travel, including international travel.
