Protein Trader - PretoriaFull job descriptionTWK Agri has the following vacancy available: Protein Trader within the Grain division at Piet Retief, Mpumalanga or Pretoria, Gauteng.Job Summary:As a Protein Trader, your primary responsibility is to buy and sell protein-based commodities on behalf of your clients or employer. This role demands a deep understanding of market dynamics, supply chain logistics and regulatory requirements. You will leverage your expertise to optimise trading strategies, manage risk and build strong relationships with suppliers and buyers in the protein industry.Responsibilities and Duties:Conduct thorough analysis of global and regional protein markets, including supply, demand, pricing trends, and competitor activitiesExecute trades to buy and sell protein commodities based on market analysis, client requirements, and strategic objectivesAssess and manage risks associated with protein trading, such as price fluctuations, quality control, and logistical challengesNegotiate prices, contracts, and terms with suppliers, processors, distributors, and clients to secure favourable deals and maximize profitabilityBuild and maintain strong relationships with suppliers and buyers to facilitate smooth transactions and ensure consistent supply chain operationsCoordinate logistics for the transportation, storage, and distribution of protein commodities, ensuring timely delivery and adherence to quality standardsGather and analyze market intelligence, industry trends, and consumer preferences to inform trading strategies and business decisionsPrepare reports on trading activities, financial performance, and market conditions to support decision-making and strategy developmentDevelop and implement strategic plans and initiatives to optimize trading operations, expand market presence, and achieve business objectivesQualifications and Skills:Matric / Grade 12Bachelorxe2x80x99s degree in Business Administration, Economics, Agriculture, or a related fieldProven experience in protein trading or related commodities tradingStrong analytical skills and proficiency in market analysis toolsExcellent negotiation and communication skillsKnowledge of supply chain management and logisticsUnderstanding of regulatory requirements and compliance in the protein industryThe company can expire jobs at any time at their own discretion.
