PROVINCIAL MEDIA OFFICERFREE STATERef: FS-PROVMO-003Please note only applications reflecting the reference number (above) will be considered.The DA wishes to appoint a creative, self-motivated and goal driven individual, who will be based at our Provincial Head Office in Bloemfontein. The successful candidate will report to the Provincial Director.The successful candidate will be responsible for:

  • Working together with the DA provincial leadership and the various communication operations of the Party in the province to ensure that provincial and municipal communication operations effectively deliver the key messages of the DA
  • Overall, managing and coordinating the communications of the Party within the province and between the province and national communication structures
Prospective applicants must meet the following requirements:
  • National Senior Certificate
  • Post matric qualification in communication and/or political science
  • Minimum of 3 years experience in the field of media, public relations, communications or other related field
  • Experience using social media platforms on behalf of brands
  • Knowledge of the local, provincial and national political environment and dynamics
  • Proficiency in English and one other provincial language (Afrikaans and Sesotho)
  • Computer literacy (Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Zoom, Smartsheet)
  • Ability to effectively use all media platforms
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Strong coordinating skills
  • Time management skills
  • Ability to work independently
  • Ability to work well under pressure and meet tight deadlines
  • Systematic, comprehensive and displaying excellent attention to detail
  • Commitment to the principles, policies and programme of action of the Democratic Alliance
  • Outcomes-orientated, not simply task-orientated
  • Willingness to go the extra mile, which may include working long and irregular hours, weekends, and public holidays where necessary
  • Applicants MUST be in possession of a valid drivers licence and have access to an insured vehicle for daily use
