RPO Recruitment's client is looking for a Pump Fitter to join their team in Paarden Eiland, Cape Town.
The successful candidate will be responsible for maintaining, repairing, and installing various pump systems while ensuring compliance with quality and safety standards.Responsibilities:

• Prepare reports, logs, and records for compliance, warranty claims, and future reference. Maintain accurate records of work hours, completed tasks, materials used, and test results.
• Perform all assigned duties, including minor and major services. Maintain tools and equipment, diagnose and resolve mechanical issues, fabricate or modify pump parts, and collaborate with team members.
• Complete installations, repairs, and replacements of pumps and components. Ensure proper alignment, fitting, and sealing of pump parts according to specifications.
• Measure and adjust pump parameters, conduct performance tests, and ensure pumps meet operational standards before commissioning.
• Perform preventative and corrective maintenance on pumps, dismantle and reassemble equipment for servicing, and replace or repair defective components.
• Ensure compliance with safety regulations, attend toolbox meetings, and maintain workplace cleanliness and safety standards.
• Communicate with clients regarding project updates, provide technical advice, and ensure customer satisfaction.
• Perform additional tasks as required, including providing support for colleagues and handling special requests.

Requirements:

• Trade Certification (e.g., Red Seal) in Fitting & Turning, Mechanical Fitting, or equivalent.
• Strong knowledge of mechanical systems and pump operation principles.
• Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, schematics, and blueprints.
• Proficiency in using diagnostic and repair tools.
• 3-5 years of experience working with pumps in industrial, commercial, or marine environments.
• Experience with various pump types and sizes.
• Valid driver's license.
