Job Description


Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement cost-effective purchasing strategies for materials used in the business.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with suppliers while actively seeking new vendors.
  • Evaluate purchasing operations, enhance product quality, and ensure timely delivery.
  • Regularly communicate with senior management on the efficient flow of goods and services affecting production.
  • Conduct cost analyses and improve payment and delivery terms, stockholding, and turnaround times.
  • Develop risk management procedures to prevent product shortages and maintain a comprehensive Business Continuity & Recovery plan.
  • Supervise a purchasing team and consumable inventory teams, delegating tasks across departments when necessary.
  • Work closely with the legal department to ensure procurement contracts are favorable and compliant with group policies.
Candidate Requirements:
  • Tertiary qualification (BCOM or equivalent) in Financial Management or a related field.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in purchasing.
  • At least 3 years of team management experience.
  • Strong ability to work under pressure and meet ambitious deadlines.
  • Must have own transport and a valid driver's license.
  • Willingness to travel between sites.
  • Fluency in both Afrikaans and English is essential.
  • High proficiency in ERP systems and Microsoft Office.
