QA Engineer (Remote) IT - Software Testing
Cape Town - Western Cape ~ Johannesburg - Gauteng ~ Durban - KwaZulu Natal ~ Remote

ENVIRONMENT:

Our Client is a forward-thinking nonprofit organization dedicated to reshaping the publishing industry. Emphasizing the need for transformative shifts in traditional publishing systems, they focus on developing open infrastructure, tools, and platforms to redefine publishing processes. Presently, they are in search of a QA Engineer responsible for ensuring the quality and reliability of their software platforms through thorough testing methodologies, with a specific focus on utilizing Cypress for automation testing. The ideal candidate will possess proven experience as a QA Engineer in software development and expertise in Cypress and other automation testing tools.

DUTIES:

• Develop and implement comprehensive test plans.
• Lead automation testing efforts using Cypress.
• Collaborate with the development team and project manager on requirements.
• Identify, log, and track bugs and issues.
• Enhance and maintain the test automation framework.
• Participate in creating user stories for testability.
• Adhere to quality standards and contribute to process improvements.
• Stay updated with latest trends in QA and testing.

REQUIREMENTS:

• Proven experience as a QA Engineer in software development.
• Expertise in Cypress and other automation testing tools.
• Familiarity with software development lifecycle and Agile methodologies.
• Proficient in English, as the position will require a lot of interaction with co-workers and clients in an international setting.

Advantageous experience and skills

• Understanding of UX principles.
• Contributions to public open-source projects.
• Experience in distributed teams.
