Job Description
Duties include
- Assess vehicle damage to determine repair requirements.
- Have Full and extensive knowledge of repair process.
- Ability to read and interpret technical specifications and work orders.
- Remove damaged panels and repair or replace them using specialist techniques.
- Straighten chassis and bodywork to restore vehicles to manufacturer specifications.
- Fill dents, weld metal parts, and grind surfaces to prepare for refinishing.
- Align body panels, doors, and trim for a seamless fit.
- Operate specialized tools and equipment, including hydraulic presses, planishing hammers, and spray guns.
- Working overtime if and when required
- Maintain a clean and organized workspace, adhering to health and safety regulations.
- Communicate effectively with team members and supervisors regarding repair progress, WIP meetings and departmental meetings performance to target.
- Experience: Minimum 3 years experience in panel beating or related automotive body repair work.
- Qualifications: Trade certification in Panel Beating or Vehicle Body Repair - Red Seal qualification.
- Technical Skills: Proficiency in welding, panel alignment, and refinishing techniques.
- Attention to Detail: Ability to work precisely to ensure high-quality standards and ability to meet deadlines.
- Physical Stamina: Capable of performing physically demanding tasks.
- Soft Skills: Strong communication and problem-solving abilities.
- License: Valid drivers license and reliable transportation.
- Matric
- Preferably reside within Helderberg area
