Job Description


Job Summary Key ResponsibilitiesManage the QC Department

  • Lead and manage the QC team, ensuring effective training, allocation, and recruitment of staff.
  • Build a competent team capable of covering all relevant QC functions.
Monitor Quality & Food Safety Operations Protocols
  • Communicate product non-conformances to operations and ensure effective response to process controls.
  • Ensure NCRs are raised, monitored, and resolved promptly, with a focus on reducing non-conformance trends.
  • Regularly review and update food safety and quality protocols, enforcing compliance through data analysis and trend reporting.
Authorize Positive Release of Conforming Products
  • Oversee in collaboration with the Technical manager, tests and results to ensure products meet specifications and requirements.
  • Investigate non-conformances and ensure corrective actions, including retests, are conducted as needed.
Supplier Compliance
  • Review incoming inspection records and Certificates of Analysis (COAs) to verify supplier compliance with Finlar and customer requirements.
  • Identify and trend supplier non-conformances and issue quality alerts as necessary.
Housekeeping & Occupational Health and Safety (OHS)
  • Maintain high housekeeping standards through routine inspections and recordkeeping.
  • Ensure optimum safety standards, with no disabling injuries.
Customer Complaints
  • Investigate and resolve customer complaints, ensuring root causes are identified and corrective actions are implemented.
  • Trend outstanding action plans related to complaints and report progress to relevant personnel.
Audit Preparations & Conduct
  • Verify and monitor QC records, ensuring all documentation is complete and accessible for audits.
  • Close non-conformance actions identified in prior audits and ensure the plant is audit-ready in collaboration with the Technical Manager
Qualifications & Experience: -
  • Diploma/Degree in Food Science, Microbiology, or a related field.
  • Minimum 5 years of QA/QC experience in the food manufacturing industry (meat manufacturing preferred).
  • Comprehensive knowledge of HACCP, GMPs, food safety regulations, and audit preparation.
  • Proven ability to manage a quality team and maintain compliance with quality standards.

  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
