We are seeking a detail-oriented and analytical Quality Controller to join our team. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in ensuring that our products meet the highest quality standards and comply with regulatory requirements. This position requires a strong understanding of accounting principles and financial acumen, as well as proficiency in various accounting software. The Quality Controller will work closely with multiple departments to maintain quality assurance processes and improve operational efficiency.
Duties
o Monitor the quality of all products being manufactured in the Bakery Plant, Wetline, Par baked, Pizza line and TCCS Plant and inform Production Managers to correct defects. Emphasis on process control for all products.
o Maintain an awareness of GMP practices, sanitation program, and operations to help management resolve problems: - Check the functionality of the metal detector - Check the functionality of OPRP's - are sieves whole and being used, are fridges and freezers working - Ensure that the correct dates (expiry, production and Julian) being used from the previous shift - Ensure that there are enough copies for the next person
o Coordinate and direct all activities related to product safety, product in process, and finished product.
o Line clearance at the beginning and end of production shift - sign off line cleanliness and first product that comes from the line.
o Monitor rodent and insect control program.
o Ensure that retention samples are stored in the freezer, marked appropriately for future reference and are properly managed. Maintain retention sample area as and when required. Capture retention samples summaries.
oConduct the verification of scales and thermometer as per schedule.
o Ensure that lab housekeeping is maintained.
o Verify online check at least 3 times daily.
o Verify that the mixing sheets and online QA sheets are completed correctly.
o Micro sampling to be completed as required.
o Conduct in-house microbiological and analytical testing as required.
Skills
Strong understanding of budgeting principles and practices.
Proficiency in Sage or similar accounting software.
Knowledge of governmental accounting regulations and compliance requirements.
Ability to analyze debits, credits, and overall accounting data effectively.
Excellent financial acumen with a focus on regulatory reporting.
Experience in general ledger reconciliation and account reconciliation processes.
Strong attention to detail with exceptional analytical skills.
Ability to communicate effectively across various departments.
Minimum Requirements
o National Diploma in Food Technology, equivalent qualification or proven track record in Quality Assurance / Food manufacturing field.
o Computer literate and proficient, MS Office Suite
