Job Description


The QI Coach will provide technical support to Districts and Sub-districts to implement and successfully run Operation Phuthuma nerve centers that are focused on data driven quality improvement problem-solving methodology.YOUR JOB WILL BE TO:Quality Improvement:

  • Provide quality improvement technical support to district and sub-district management teams:
  • Assist is the establishment and running of operation Phuthuma nerve centers.
  • Develop quality improvement capacity within DOH management teams
  • Assist DOH management teams to use data for improvement.
  • Analyzing and interpreting data to identify opportunities for improvement.
  • Design, develop and monitor improvement projects at district, sub-district and facility level.
  • Capacity building for quality improvement within Aurum and DOH
  • Analyzing data for reporting and project design purposes
  • Assist in implementation of Quality Improvement activities by working collaboratively with a multidisciplinary team to identify gaps in service delivery and to identify and set improvement priorities.
  • Continuous report writing, recordkeeping of all working procedures, identification of gaps, development and implementation of new procedures and standards.
  • Follow-up on the implementation of changes and comment on improvements, ensure continuous improvement.
  • Guiding and directing stakeholders in the development, implementation and measuring of quality improvement initiatives
Training:
  • Conduct training workshops to build QI knowledge for all levels of DoH staff.
  • Facilitate learning sessions and collaboratives.
Mentoring:
  • Provide formal mentoring to DoH managers and facility level staff, to ensure skills transfer.
Capacitate Quality Improvement coaches and manage their day-to-day functions accordingly.Liaise with External and Internal Customers:
  • Develop and maintain excellent working relationships with DoH management teams
  • Form and maintain close working relationships with various specialists within Aurum and other organizations to ensure appropriateness and correctness.
  • Represent Aurum at organisational and external stakeholder meetings.
General:
  • Comply with all safety policies, practices, and procedures according to prescribed procedures and legislation.
  • Report all unsafe activities to Senior Management/Human Resources.
  • Adhere and maintain decision making authority as allocated to the position.
  • Participate in proactive team efforts to achieve departmental and company goals. Adheres to the organisation SOPs, guidelines and confidential agreements.
  • Provide leadership to others through example and sharing of knowledge/skill
Qualification / Professional Membership
  • An appropriate diploma or degree in Health, Public Health, or related field
  • Certificate in project management.
Work Experience:
  • Significant experience in working with the department of health.
  • Should have significant previous experience and technical knowledge of quality improvement.
  • At least 2 years experience in quality improvement or related field.
Skills:Technical, functional and behavioural
  • Track record of implementing and managing Quality Improvement projects
  • Ability to analysis data for improvement purposes
  • Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals.
  • Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public.
  • Ability to define problems, collect data, establishes facts and draw valid conclusions.
  • Ability to transfer knowledge in an exciting and comprehendible way

Knowledge
  • Proficient personal computer skills including electronic mail, record keeping, routine database activity, word processing, spread sheet and graphics.
  • Computer literate: Efficient in Microsoft office, Excel, PowerPoint, and spreadsheet application.
