Reporting directly to the Delivery Operations Manager, we are looking for an energetic and enthusiastic

Quality Technician

to be based in our Durban office. In this role, you will be responsible for the delivery of projects of high quality with the KONE procedures and processes being always followed.

What you will do:



Develops and communicates inspection plans and procedures, providing guidance and support to operators to ensure effective implementation. Conducts sample testing and process audits, ensuring accurate application of measurement systems, and maintains detailed records of inspection results and equipment calibration. Shares inspection and audit outcomes with key stakeholders, including Quality Managers/Specialists, Installation/Maintenance/Production Supervisors, Field Trainers, and Project Managers. Initiates containment actions, identifies best practices, and suggests improvement opportunities through thorough root cause analysis and actionable corrective measures. Trained and engaged operatives at installation, maintenance, or production sites to uphold quality standards and procedures. Compiles inspection result summaries for customer updates and site meetings. Performs and documents material and workmanship inspections, representing KONE during client-required contractual inspections. Leads resolution efforts for client-identified non-conformities, ensuring timely and effective clearance. Contributes to project close-out documentation, including SEB inspections and snag item lists, and participates in their preparation.

Are you the one?



Minimum of 2 years' relevant work experience, preferably in the maintenance/quality field. Good technical understanding of designs and solutions that meet customer expectations. Knowledge and experience of manufacturing/operational process(es) and their continuous improvement through application of Six Sigma, Lean Manufacturing and/or other proven methodologies. Working knowledge to apply basic inspection concepts, techniques, and processes. Able to understand sampling characteristics, types, and selecting samples from lots. Knowledge of which measurement and test equipment tools are appropriate for various applications and how to assess tool accuracy and precision. Must understand the concept of calibration standards. Identifies the benefits from Quality actions (Customer satisfaction, COT, CoPQ, other). Ability to work together as a team and promote a harmonious environment. Excellent English communication.
