Work Model: OnsiteJOB CONTEXT:We are seeking a detail-oriented and skilled Quantity Surveyor to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing costs related to construction projects, including estimating, tendering, and contract administration. The role requires a thorough understanding of cost control, budgeting, and project management to ensure the financial success of construction projects.Duties and Responsibilities:Cost Estimating:
Prepare detailed cost estimates for construction projects, considering materials, labor, equipment, and overhead costs. Work with the project team to adjust estimates and prepare accurate budgets.
Tendering:
Manage the tendering process, including preparing and issuing tender documents, evaluating bids, and selecting contractors. Ensure that the best value for money is achieved for the client while meeting project specifications.
Contract Administration:
Oversee the administration of construction contracts, ensuring that all contractual obligations are met. Review contracts for any discrepancies or issues and work with stakeholders to resolve them.
Cost Control:
Monitor and track project costs throughout the construction process, providing regular cost reports and financial updates to management and stakeholders. Identify areas of cost overrun and recommend corrective actions.
Value Engineering:
Analyze project plans and specifications to recommend cost-effective alternatives or design changes that maintain or improve the quality of the project while reducing costs.
Risk Management:
Identify potential financial risks within projects and propose mitigation strategies to avoid cost overruns and delays.
Financial Reporting:
Provide timely and accurate financial reporting for all projects, ensuring transparency and compliance with industry standards.
Client Liaison:
Act as the key point of contact between clients, contractors, and other stakeholders regarding cost-related matters. Communicate effectively to ensure all parties are aligned and informed.Key Requirements:

  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in a similar role within the construction industry.
  • Strong knowledge of construction costs, contracts, and tendering processes.
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and problem-solving skills.
  • Proficient in quantity surveying software and Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Strong attention to detail and a high level of accuracy in all work.
Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in Quantity Surveying, Construction Management, or a related field.
Package & Remuneration:
  • Will be agreed based on qualifications, applicable banking experience and previous earnings.
