We offer you the opportunity to establish yourself within a professional, corporate environment in the countryside.The Quantity Surveyor will be responsible for planning and management of construction projects from initial estimate to final account as well as the facilities management of local offices.Requirements

  • BSc Quantity Surveying, 4-year degree or Honours degree
  • Minimum 3-years relevant experience
  • Proficient in the MS Office package
  • Sound knowledge of building practices
  • Sound knowledge of SANS 10400
  • Own vehicle
  • Able to work independently
  • Willing to travel
  • Strong administrative skills with be an advantage
Duties and Responsibilities
  • Determine project requirements through meetings with stakeholders
  • Liaising with construction professionals for project design that meets stakeholder requirements
  • Cost estimation of construction projects
  • Analysing designs and identifying cost savings
  • Analysing design to identify savings on life-cycle costs
  • Drawing up Bills of Quantities
  • Drawing up Scope of Works and Tender documentation
  • Review of Tenders received
  • Appointment of Contractors
  • Management of Construction projects
  • Ensuring that work complies with SANS 10400 and other legislative requirements
  • Compiling of Close-out documentation
  • Compiling of final accounts
  • Project reporting
  • Maintenance planning
  • Life cycle costings
  • Management of facilities and site services for local offices
  • Management of rented properties including leases, maintenance, etc
  • Management of cleaning staff, maintenance staff and receptionists at local offices
