We are looking for a Receiving Clerk to join our team! As a Receiving Clerk, you will ensure that the goods are for the company by checking the delivery note. A Receiving Clerk is also responsible for physically checking goods received by matching the quantities received with the quantities on the delivery note. This position reports directly to the Receiving Supervisor, and/or the Receiving Manager and will be required to work a straight shift across trading and non-trading hours, including Sundays and Public Holiday.
What you'll do


This is a list of tasks that you will be responsible for doing on your days at work.


Unload goods by operating a forklift if required. Ensure that quantities are correct by matching the physical quantities offloaded with the quantity on the delivery documentation and the quantity ordered. Visually inspect delivered goods for damages and correctness. Conducting relevant Food Safety Temperature Checks as per the FSMS in the case of refrigerated deliveries. Report any discrepancies. Keep a clean and safe working environment and optimize space utilization. Communicate and cooperate with supervisors and co-workers. Follow quality service standards and comply with procedure, rules, and regulations. Utilise numeric skills for tasks. Demonstrate effective written communication abilities. Apply problem-solving skills to resolve challenges. Possess knowledge of fruits and vegetables. Exhibit familiarity with products and suppliers. Stay self-motivated to accomplish tasks. Maintain a positive attitude in the workplace. Handle work effectively under pressure situations. Lift heavy objects as required by the job. Requirements

Preferences


Meeting the preferences would be a plus, but if you don't, it won't stop companies from considering you.


South African candidates Experience: Minimum 2 years' experience as a receiving clerk in the retail industry.

Are you willing to work 6 shifts per week (including Sundays and Public holidays) across trading and non-trading hours? Please list all warehouse equipment licenses you have. (For example please list if you have a license to operate Pallet Jacks, Forklifts, Reach Trucks, etc? Are you willing to work in a cold storage environment with temperatures ranging from -10 to 34 degrees Celsius (appropriate protective attire provided)? Do you have experience checking received items for damages or mistakes? What would you do if a shipment arrives with damaged items? How would you handle a situation where the delivery does not match the invoice? * How do you ensure that all stock levels are continuously monitored?
