GRO is a highly specialised team that delivers strategic and operational reconciliation initiatives for a global company community (South Africa,
Ireland, United Kingdom, and Mauritius).
The team is fast paced, and performance driven, focusing on delivering reconciliation methodologies and strategies for the community of
Company.
The overall objective of the role is analysing and reviewing the completeness and accuracy of recorded financial activity. The Reconciler is also
ensures that all financial and non-financial transactions are allocated to an owner and business unit across geographies.
The resultMain responsibilities
Reconciliation:
Ensure that all the statements are fed into the recon application correctly from the different source systems daily.
Daily matching and management of various business accounts.
Accountability for the reconciliations.
Collaborate with various departments to ensure reconciliation issues are addressed promptly.
Maintain accurate records of reconciliation activities and prepare reports for management review.
Contribute to the development and improvement of reconciliation procedures and controls.
Managing stakeholder relations.
Sending SWIFT messages for unidentified funds and queries.
Reconciliation of payments to accounting entries.
Assist with ad hoc duties in the team.
Testing and implementations of new recons and projects.
Participate in internal and external audits as required.Reporting:
Bi-monthly compilation of dashboards for the various accounts by ensuring reconciliation breaks are at a minimal.
Management of exceptions and trending analysis.
Experience, skill and capabilityEducation | Knowledge
Bachelor's degree in Accounting/Finance preferred.
At least two years experience in a financial environment.
Good understanding of accounting concepts and principles.
Excellent problem-solving abilities and a proactive approach in identifying issues.
Proficient in the use of financial software and Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel.
Understanding of SWIFT.
Reconciliations experience is a plus.Core Competencies
