Refrigeration & Hvac Commissioning Technician
Job Description
A vacancy exists in the Utility and Environmental Unit in Pinetown (HVAC) for a Refrigeration & HVAC Commissioning Technician reporting to the Servicing & Commissioning ManagerDuties:
- Understand the working principles and operation of air-conditioning systems.
- Understand the working principals and operation of chilled water systems.
- Understand electrical wiring diagrams, schematics and P & I Diagrams.
- Ability to fault find and trace HVAC mechanical and electrical breakdowns.
- Accept travelling country wide for short periods of time to commission and service HVAC installations.
- Ability to persevere and put in extra hours if necessary.
- Inspection of electrical and hand tools
- Working at elevated position
- Following safe hot work practices (cutting, grinding, drilling, tacking, jacking)
- Determine correct PPE to be worn for a specific job.
- Able to complete job risk assessment.
- Good housekeeping practicesRequirements:
Minimum Qualifications
- Matric
- N3 with the subjects Air Conditioning & Refrigeration Trade Theory
- Red Seal Trade tested artisan
Experience
- Minimum 3-5 years field experience in Industrial Air-Conditioning and Refrigeration
- Previous experience in Commissioning and Servicing chilled water HVAC Plant installations in the Industrial Manufacturing and Pharmaceutical Sectors.Should you not receive a response within 10 working days, please consider your application as unsuccessful
