The incumbent will manage the Cylinder Distribution in order to ensure the best performance in terms of transportation costs and efficiency while ensuring customer satisfaction and regulation compliance. The incumbent will coordinate a team of cylinder dispatchers and order takers by coaching and supporting them in their daily tasks in their assigned geographical zone.
Responsible for the safe operation of the logistics function involving primary and secondary flows, stock/asset management, staff management as well as Customer satisfaction
Ensure customer satisfaction for PG and HG by executing deliveries IN FULL and ON TIME
Road safety and adherence to IMS, QMS, HSE and SA regulations.
Optimize the efficiency of the cylinder distribution
Evaluates training requirements, follows individual qualifications and plans the training
Organizes and develops experience sharing between dispatchers
Ensures proper working of the routing tool and improvements
Controls cylinder transport invoicing data implementation in the system
Controls that trip returns are recorded by Transport & Stock Coordinators
Controls that drivers are interviewed everyday
Controls that gaps between planning and execution are investigated and corrected by dispatchers
Knows and respects all the procedures (internal such as IMS and legal) for distribution activity
Promotes safe behaviours. Sets up and reinforces the quality systems
Implements corrective and preventive actions to answer customer and distributors claims
Evaluates the performance of carriers and drivers according procurement procedure
Participates in transport procurement workshops (specification definition)
Ensure all documentation is captured within 1 working day of dispatched vehicle return to depot.
Work closely with Customer Service Representatives to ensure morning and afternoon proactive communication to customers regarding short supplies or non deliveries and subsequent action plan
Manage spec gas stock and ensure minimum requirements are maintained
Communicates timeously on shortages and late/non deliveries with the CSRs and sales teams
Manages the Hardgoods storage on site
Dispatch vehicles optimizing departure time
Conducting vehicle inspections

Educational requirements
Education: Degree/Diploma in Logistics/ Transport Management
Experience
Road transportation 3 - 5 yr
Distribution 3 - 5 yr
Supply chain management 3 - 5 yr
Inventory management experience/ Management of people
Navision
Knowledge and Know-how specific to the job
Operate autonomously
Has a strong knowledge in supply chain management (logistics, route planning, tracking and systems)
Has a solid know-how in team management
Masters computerized systems and environments
Knows how to establish work plans, efficiently allocates or makes use of available resources, act according to plans and establishes priorities
