Oversee and manage the Wholesale sales team by assisting the team in driving the business forward through sales and marketing ideas as well as initiatives. Will also oversee regional strategic retail initiatives that will support the development of growth plans and profitability goals within the Company.

Job requirements

  • Grade12/ NQF4.
  • 8 - 10 years New Market and Sales Management experience.
  • 10 year's Key Account Management experience.
  • Relevant tertiary Sales and/ or Marketing qualification or equivalent demonstratable experience.
  • Minimum 5 years of Retail Sales management experience.
  • Proven experience as a salesperson in the Wholesale Poultry Industry.
  • A thorough understanding of poultry products and the industry as a whole.
  • Previous experience in developing brand and marketing strategies.
  • Previous experience with multi-channel marketing strategies (including planning and execution).
  • Track record of developing and implementing marketing communications plans that have produced significant, impactful and measurable ROI results (portfolio of evidence).
  • Strong background in customer acquisition and retention strategies.
  • Previous experience in managing and leading teams.
  • Computer literate in the MS Office package.
  • Proficient in using sales software and computer programs.
  • Driver's Licence and own vehicle
  • Must be willing to travel and meet with clients as needed.
Duties and responsibilities
  • Effectively manage and coordinate customer- and consumer complaints to ensure quality and good service delivery.
  • Ensure effective and aggressive marketing campaigns in order to build positive brand equity.
  • Manage sales and team to continuously ensure 90% on customer service delivery.
  • Communicate sales- and marketing information to internal, external customers as well suppliers (where applicable).
  • Analyse, interpret and direct the overall customer performance figures on a monthly basis within your region.
  • Manage any 3rd party distributors to the same levels of service as set out for other distributors.
  • Ensure compliance with all applicable conditions of the Consumer Protection Act and uphold the ethical code of conduct of the relevant companies within Grain Field Chickens.
  • Compile, control and measure the Inland- or Coastal sales and the marketing budget on a monthly basis within agreed mandates per signed customer plans.
  • Weekly analysis and reporting on sales in order to implement action plans to address any deviances.
  • Implement controls and measures in order to evaluate returns and damages on a monthly basis.
  • Ensure return on investment on innovations that are implemented within Sales and Marketing.
  • Ensure that reputable business is attained and limit any financial risk on our debtor's book.
  • Coach and mentor your applicable personnel within your allocated region in order to ensure standards, practices and processes are met.
  • Ensure that all relevant staff to your region are educated on all new and existing products and services on a quarterly basis.
  • Develop and expand a reputable customer base.
  • Ensure effective stock management of the product categories allocated to you by the Sales and Marketing Executive within your region.
  • Formulate, compile and roll out the Sales and marketing strategies as prescribed by the Executive as well as develop regional strategies that are sustainable and achievable.
  • Adhere to the Sales and Marketing department's policies and procedures.
  • Report on the market conditions and assist in determining pricing and production strategy for the following week.
  • Any other duties as may be required by management.
