Overview:

The Eastern Europe, Middle East & Africa team is looking for a Regional Security Manager, Sub Saharan Africa (SSA) to secure our people and business to thrive in a world beyond cash. will play a key role in enhancing Mastercards brand as a technology-leader. The best-fit candidate will:

  • Support security agenda for regional offices with the Regional Chief Security Officer (RCSO) to protect MC's data, physical assets, and employees.
  • Establish and cultivate strong working relationships with business and market leadership for the SSA Division to mitigate the risk to Mastercard the MC business and assets across SSAs markets.
  • Support the RCSO to build trust with all internal and external stakeholders, representing Mastercard and acting as a key point of contact for all payments 4-Party peers, law enforcement agencies, security partners, diplomatic missions, and U.S. Department of State Regional Security Offices in each market.
  • Identify, assess, monitor, and manage corporate travel activity to mitigate risk to Mastercard colleagues for high-risk business travel within SSA.
  • Contribute to the protective security (People, Physical, Events, Travel, Executive Protection) program to minimize risk to the business.
  • Conduct security risk assessments of regional offices as needed and coordinate with the Security operations Center (SOC) to provide timely recommendations to business units.
  • Support physical security systems services and coordinate new security systems installations with regional security operations team and global integrator.
  • Collaborate with Global and Regional Cybersecurity assurance functions - security architects, engineers, and operations staff - to optimize the cyber and information security program to minimize risk to the business.
  • Support and advise the Product Management Evaluation process to minimize risk to the business for the delivery of new and upgraded products.
  • Develop and maintain regular market and security intelligence updates to the business, including threat alerts on occurrence for risks to MC assets applicable to the market.
  • Engage and educate employees and senior leadership on security awareness programs, threat, and risk management.
  • Collaborate closely with Sourcing & Procurement and Legal to manage security risks in legal contracts, procurement, and security vendor services capability ensuring it is conducted in a timely manner to serve the SSA division and to addresses security risks for protective security efforts, and capability.
  • Manage and/or support regional security incidents and crisis response events to safeguard MC people, data, and assets by providing risk-based security advice and compensating controls in partnership with Crisis Management and Global Corporate Security functions.
  • Support Corporate Security Insider Threat program and investigations through regional liaison to People and Capabilities, Employee Relations, Business Conduct Office, or Internal Audit with regards to internal investigations and audits.
  • In collaboration with Public Policy & Government Engagement, support the regional business in the establishment of public sector and law enforcement relationships to support market activity.
  • Support EEMEA Technology leads for the clarification of security related queries.
  • Support the EEMEA Stakeholder Assurance team with resolution of customer and regulatory requests (RFQ, Regulatory queries, 4-Party stakeholder questionnaires etc.)
  • Support the RCSO for the protection across other key divisions - Eastern Europe and MENA - as required and on demand.
The ideal candidate is passionate the converged security domain - across protective and information security spectrum.

All About You:
  • At least 10 years experience as a security professional.
  • It is desirable that the candidate have had demonstrable experience working within complex, Global organizations, serving high threat markets.
  • Proven track record of delivering security services and operations in a highly volatile and sensitive environment.
  • It is desirable to have knowledge of principles of converged security - protective and information security models.
  • Excellent communicator, with the ability to influence key decision makers, based on threat assessment, security requirements and provide timely and actionable recommendations.
  • Be sensitive to processes, and have clear, logical thinking for related duties.
  • Team player with strong communication skills and can handle high pressure in a fast-paced work environment.
  • Passion to continuously improve and keenness to work in a dynamic environment that is leading the digital evolution in payments and technology.
  • It is desirable that the candidate has demonstrable experience working in Sub Saharan Africa.
  • Ability to analyze complex threat situations, and provide geospatial, temporal, heuristic, and trend-based assessments to business decision makers.
  • Must have the capacity to travel throughout Eastern Europe, Middle East, and Africa. Travel within region is at least 25 %.
  • Candidate must speak English fluently.
  • Hold certifications in CISM, CISSP, PSP, CPP or equivalent.
