Duties/Pligte
Rendering therapeutic counselling services to students, both individually and in groups. Rendering service via a hybrid model that includes both in-person as well as online contact. Developing and presenting psychoeducational workshops and skills groups that promote a healthy lifestyle amongst students. Managing the intake process and allocations for interventions of students who present for appointments at the CSCD. Managing the calendar. Maintaining confidentiality and accurate client records. Submitting monthly statistics. Attending all staff meetings. The core purpose of this post is to provide appropriate and effective student counselling (individual and in groups) and development services delivery to the Stellenbosch University student community.


Lewering van terapeutiese beradingsdienste aan studente, individueel en ook in groepsverband. Dienslewering via 'n hibriede model wat beide in-persoon/aangesig-tot-aangesig en aanlyn kontak insluit. Ontwikkeling en aanbieding van psigo-opvoedkundige werkswinkels en vaardigheidsgroepe wat 'n gesonde leefstyl onder studente bevorder. Hantering van die siftingsproses en toewysing vir ingryping van studente wat aanmeld vir afsprake by die SSVO. Handhawing van vertroulikheid en akkurate kliente rekords. Bestuur van die kalender. Indiening van maandelikse statistieke. Woon alle personeelvergaderings by. Die doel van die pos is om toepaslike en effektiewe berading (individueel en in groepsverband), krisishantering en ontwikkelingsdienste aan die studente-gemeenskap van die Universiteit Stellenbosch te lewer.


Job Requirements/Pos Vereistes
A four-year B Psych qualification or B Psych equivalent qualification. Registration (of at least two years) with the Health Professions Council of South Africa as a Counsellor. Experience in providing counselling services to young adults. Excellent communication and language skills in English as well as one of the other official languages within South Africa. Computer skills in the MS-Office environment.


'n Vierjaar B Psych kwalifikasie of B Psych gelykwaardige kwalifikasie. Ervaring in die verskaffing vanberadingsdienste aan jong volwassenes. Uitstekende kommunikasie- en taalvaardighede in Engels asook in een van die ander amptelike tale in Suid-Afrika. Rekenaarvaardigheid ten opsigte van die MS Office-omgewing.


Recommendation/Aanbeveling
Specific experience in the duties as indicated above. Experience in multidisciplinary cooperation with medical practitioners and other health professionals within health sciences. Training in and experience with trauma counselling. Training in and experience with substance-related disorders. Training in and experience with presenting group interventions. Experience with rendering services within a higher education environment. Experience with developing and presenting workshops and lectures on topics related to personal development and self-management. Competence in an additional African language.


Spesifieke ervaring met die pligte soos hier bo uiteengesit. Ervaring van multidissiplinere samewerking met mediese praktisyns en ander gesondheidsberoepe. Opleiding in en ervaring van trauma berading. Opleiding in en ervaring van werk met dwelm- en drankverwante versteurings. Opleiding in en ervaring van in die aanbied van groepsintervensies. Ervaring van dienslewering in 'n hoer onderwys-omgewing. Ervaring met die ontwikkeling en aanbieding van werkswinkels en lesings wat met persoonlike ontwikkeling en selfbestuur verband hou. * Vaardigheid in 'n addisionele Afrikataal.
