Role PurposeTo effectively contribute to the Hospital Pre-Auth Team, ensuring that key performance indicators and service level agreements are met and that hospital procedures are authorised according to protocol.
Requirements

  • A National Senior Certificate is essential
  • It is essential to have a Nursing Diploma or Degree
  • Minimum of 1 years clinical experience within a private hospital is essential
  • The incumbent must be registered with the South African Nursing Council as a Registered Nurse
  • Knowledge of the Medical Scheme industry would be highly advantageous
  • Experience in a call centre environment would be an advantage
  • MS Office / Office 365 proficiency
Duties & Responsibilities
  • Pre-authorisation of in-hospital procedures, specialised radiology, medical appliances and oxygen for all schemes according to protocols.
  • Assistance with clinical related queries and escalations according to protocols.
  • Presenting of complicated cases at clinical meetings when required.
  • Assistance with ongoing training and support within the Pre-Auth Team.
  • Accurate and comprehensive recording of notes on the system.
  • Rotational filing of audit reports.
  • Timeous resolution of client queries to ensure excellent client service.
  • Act as a reliable backup to the Team Leader in their absence, ensuring seamless continuity within the Pre-Auth Team.
  • Participate and contribute to a culture which builds rewarding relationships, facilitates feedback and provides exceptional client service.
