The successful candidate will work 12 hours per shift on a roster basis.Job descriptionThe required Registered Nurse will promote and deliver quality elderly patient care and wellness in accordance with industry standards and to execute Nursing duties within the standards, procedures and protocols set down by the South African Nursing Council.Key Responsibilitiesxc2xb7 Ensure day to day management and organization of the unit and ward.xc2xb7 Monitor patients/residents condition and assess their needs to provide the best possible care and advice.xc2xb7 Observe and interpret patients/residents symptoms and communicate them to nursing manager/doctor.xc2xb7 Collaborate with doctors and nursing manger to devise individualized care plans for patients/residents.xc2xb7 Administer medication.xc2xb7 Inspect the facilities and act to maintain excellent hygiene and safety.xc2xb7 Perform routine procedures (blood pressure measurements, administering injections etc.) and update patient/residents chart.xc2xb7 Supervise and train nursing staff and Care Givers.xc2xb7 Foster a supportive and compassionate environment to care for elderly patients and their families.xc2xb7 General administrative duties.Requirementsxc2xb7 Valid SANC registration as a Registered Nursexc2xb7 5 years experience as a Registered Nursexc2xb7 Excellent knowledge of nursing care methods and proceduresxc2xb7 Proven experience of elderly care, Alzheimers/Dementia and frail carexc2xb7 In-depth knowledge of health and safety guidelines and procedures (sanitation, decontamination etc.)xc2xb7 A team player with excellent communication and interpersonal skillsxc2xb7 Outstanding organizational and multi-tasking skillsxc2xb7 Excellent problem-solving skillsJob Type: Full-timeApplication Deadline: 2024/02/02
