Job Description


Our clinic based in Mthatha is looking for a PHC trained nurse to consult with Affinity Enterprise members to diagnose and treat clients/members acccordingly, and to provide best clinical practice and quality healthcare to members.Key ResponsibilitiesDetermine appropriate treatment once diagnosed:Action cases sent to Medical Consultant within the SLAEvaluate patients e.g. record consultation, clinical assessment, diagnosis and treatment.Minimize GP referralsEncourage appropriately OTC utilizationDeliver appropriate information to healthcare usersExplain potential side effects of medicationProvide patients with information and advice on prescribed over the counter medication.Provide quality comprehensive Primary Health Care by providing promotive, preventative, curative and rehabilitative services for clientsEnsuring proper utilization and safekeeping basic medical equipment, surgical pharmaceutical and stock.Assist in orientation, induction and monitoring of all staff.To provide nursing care that leads to improved health service delivery by upholding by company valuesExecute duties and functions with proficiency and perform duties according to scope of practice.Implement infection control standards and practices to improve quality of nursing care.Improve the knowledge of staff and clients through health education and in service training.Implement standards, practices criteria for quality nursing.Maintain a constructive working relationship with all staff and other stakeholders.Supervision of patients reports and intervention, keeping a good valid record on all client interventions.Ensuring proper utilization of Human, material and financial resources and keeping up to date records of resources.Motivate junior staff regarding development in order to increase level of expertise and assists patients to develop a sense of self-care.Strengthen data systems and treatment outcomes by live capturing on CRMSupport the realization and maintenance of the facility.Perform administrative duties:Improve areas identified by the QA teamContinue with CPDKeep accurate records of activities and actionsEssential Qualifications:xc2xb7 Matricxc2xb7 Nursing Diploma/Degree , in General Nursing Science and Midwifery or 4 year General nurse with Midwifery, community, and psychiatryxc2xb7 Registered with SANCxc2xb7 Dispensing licensexc2xb7 Drivers LicenseEssential Experience:xc2xb7 Experience in clinical evaluation of patients signs and symptomsxc2xb7 Experience in providing prescriptionsxc2xb7 Primary Health care experienceKnowledge and Skills:xc2xb7 Extensive MS Office knowledgexc2xb7 Strong written and verbal communication skillsxc2xb7 Good telephonic etiquettexc2xb7 Good listening skillsxc2xb7 Strong administration skillsxc2xb7 Knowledge in Primary Healthcarexc2xb7 Strong organisation skillsxc2xb7 Good time management skills
