Registered Nurse - Psychiatric - Port ElizabethJob SummaryDuties & Responsibilities:Ensure professional, ethical practice in the unitProvide and supervise nursing care in accordance with legislation that directly and indirectly governs nursing practiceProvide and supervise nursing care in accordance with ethical codes that directly and indirectly guide nursing practicesAccept accountability and responsibility for own professional actionsEnsure the provision of competent, clinical nursing care in the unitCoordinate and supervise nursing activities of members of the healthcare team who provide basic careCustomer Satisfaction: Enhance patient satisfactionAssist in the management of patient complaintsBuild professional relationships with the members of the multi-disciplinary teamCooperate fully with the members of the multi-disciplinary team and independently delivering nursing careAssist in the management of complaints from members of the multi-disciplinary teamSafe Environment: Assist in maintaining an environment which is both emotionally and physically safeUtilise available management tools and participate in pro active management strategies to ensure an emotionally and physically safe patient environment e.g. SHEQ and infection controlBusiness Efficiency: Contribute to business efficiency through cost effective patient care, interdepartmental cooperation and economic use of all resourcesUtilise and supervise adherence to interdepartmental requirements with regard to stock management, case management and billingCoaching and mentor staffAssist in the performance management of the unit staffAssist in staff development through the provision of appropriate on the job in-service educationRequirements:General Nursing Degree / Diploma with PsychiatryRegistration with SANCRelevant experience within a Psychiatric ward or unit will be advantageous.Understanding of the private healthcare industry, its challenges and role players would be an advantageComputer proficiency would be an advantage
