Registered Oncology Nurse
Job Description
A leading private facility in Cape Town is seeking a dedicated and experienced Registered Nurse to join their Oncology Unit. The successful candidate will play a critical role in providing specialised nursing care to critically ill patients, ensuring the highest standard of patient safety and care. The ideal candidate will have a minimum of 3 - 5 years' experience within this specific industry.
You will be responsible for the following:
Provide high-quality patient care in line with scope of practice in a facility
Administer medications and treatments as prescribed by doctors
Monitor and assess patient conditions, recording changes in health status and reporting to the healthcare team
Provide emotional support to patients and families
Collaborate with doctors, other healthcare professionals, and support staff to ensure the best possible patient outcomes
Ensure all medical records are accurately completed and maintained
Adhere to health and safety regulations and infection control protocols at all times
Respond effectively to emergency situations and provide appropriate interventions
B.Cur / Diploma in Nursing
Registration with the South African Nursing Council as a Registered Nurse
Registered Nurse with experience with oncology patients / ICU Unit
Knowledge and practical experience of the professional requirements and procedures required as stipulated in the Scope of Practice of the South African Nursing Council
Valid SANC qualification/certificate
4 - 5 Years post qualification experience working in hospitals / private facilities
Fully computer literate in MS Outlook, Word and Excel
