Job Description


To support CCBSA on key regulatory processes and issues by communicating and managing relationships with relevant stakeholders on regulatory aspects impacting the business and support the strategic responses where required. This also includes supporting internal stakeholders with maintaining compliance and effectively implementing regulatory projects.
Key Duties & ResponsibilitiesRegulatory Affairs Management: Non-alcoholic beverages

  • Develop and lead successful execution of annual regulatory risks mitigation plan affecting CCBSA within the non-alcoholic space.
  • Develop regulatory risk assessment and monitoring dashboard for real-time in-country progress evaluation, risk mitigation management and reporting.
  • Manage current regulatory risks for CCBSA in relation to emerging issues/risks and influencing the process of risk mitigation planning.
  • Identify and continuously engage all critical internal and external stakeholders (i.e., policy makers and industry for a in support of key business issues. (Output covers on both the Non-alcoholic and Alcoholic spaces).
  • Establish relationships and manage engagement processes within the regions, to ensure that risks are mitigated appropriately through effective collaboration with local chambers/associations, provincial and local government bodies.
  • Work in partnership with TCCC to drive strong engagement with National Government and relevant stakeholders.
  • Collaborate and support the Stakeholder Relations Manager in tracking, monitoring, and reporting on key Stakeholders to mitigate regulatory risk and build effective relationships that will support cross value chain enablement in achieving our game plan objectives. This includes influencing the relevant stakeholders to adopt appropriate policy positions that are beneficial to CCBSA business requirements. i.e., Discussions related to the health promotion levy (sugar tax), front of pack labelling, marketing, and advertising (this aspect extends to evaluating the impact of regulatory decisions on CCBSA and negotiating favorable positions for the business)
  • Maintain healthy relationships with key stakeholders within the regulatory environment e.g., local, provincial and national spheres of government.
  • Track and maintain a detailed awareness of the key policies and regulatory issues facing the business and support the development of strategic responses where required. (E.g., pronouncement on the sugar levy and the development of a response by CCBSA to the stipulated regulation).
  • Manage internal stakeholders to support business compliance and implementation of regulatory projects.
  • Engage external stakeholders (i.e., policy makers and industry) on regulatory issues to advise the business on regulatory matters.
  • Represent business at relevant industry bodies and effectively make use of engagement platforms to influence outcome.
Skills, Experience & Education
  • A minimum of a relevant degree (law, politics, public policy, or economics)
  • At least 4 - 6 years working experience in a multinational, legal and/or regulatory environment.
General
  • Strong understanding of government structures and workings.
  • Strong written communication and presentation skills.
  • Understanding of the law and legal processes.
