"Remote Procurement Manager (JB4021)

Remote, for candidates living in Cape Town

R55 000 - R65 000 per month, CTC

Overview

Our client, a well-known wholesale and retail outlet, is looking for an experienced Procurement Manager to join their team. The successful candidate should demonstrate a keen understanding of sourcing and procurement techniques, exhibiting proficiency in market analysis to anticipate industry trends. Strong negotiation and networking skills are crucial for this role, as well as the ability to navigate supplier or third-party management software efficiently

Beyond procurement responsibilities, the ideal candidate will lead the design and setup of processes for their Distribution Centre in the Northern Cape. This involves designating a Warehouse Layout & Flow, selecting necessary warehouse equipment, implementing a Warehouse Management System, and ensuring appropriate staffing and training.

This is a remote position that would require monthly visits to the store.

Minimum Requirements:

Bachelor of Commerce (BCom) degree in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, or Business Administration.

Proven work experience as a Procurement Manager, Procurement Officer, or Head of Procurement.

Knowledge of sourcing and procurement techniques, along with proficiency in market analysis.

Negotiation and networking skills.

Proficient in the use of supplier or third-party management software.

Aptitude in decision-making and numerical proficiency.

Strong leadership capabilities.

Duties and Responsibilities:

Manage supplier relationships and negotiate contracts, prices, and timelines.

Work to enhance purchasing systems and processes.

Track and report key functional metrics to reduce expenses and improve effectiveness.

Identify profitable suppliers and initiate business and organizational partnerships.

Analyze daily product and supply levels to anticipate inventory problems and shortages.

Finalize purchase details of orders and deliveries.

Manage the inventory tracking system to record deliveries and stock levels.

Examine and test existing contracts.

Collaborate with key individuals to ensure clarity on specifications and expectations of the company.

Anticipate alterations in the negotiating ability of suppliers and clients.

Identify potential unfavorable events through data analysis and prepare control strategies.

Perform risk management for supply contracts and agreements.

Lead the design and setup of processes for the Distribution Centre in the Northern Cape.

Designate a Warehouse Layout & Flow.

Select necessary warehouse equipment.

Implement a Warehouse Management System.

Staff and train appropriately.

Monitor efficiency.
