Our team focuses on womens cancer prevention research within the Clinical HIV Research Unit, a division of Wits Health Consortium
We are looking for an experienced Research Nurse who will assist in the implementation of clinical research projects within a womens health research program
S/he will be involved in participant recruitment, informed consent, screening, and enrolment
S/he will assist with clinical procedures, scheduling of study visits, follow up of participants, data entry, and progress report for ongoing projects
S/he will also assist with stock take in the study clinic
Location:
Helen Joseph Hospital - Johannesburg
Key performance areas:
Assist with the day-to-day implementation of clinical research projects under the guidance of the relevant PIs and investigators
Assist with all aspects of participant screening, informed consent, enrolment, and retention
Assist with clinical procedures
Assist all aspects of specimen collection, testing, and results reporting
Assist with all aspects of data collection, quality control, reporting, and storage
Maintain study files
Attend and resolve queries that are generated by data management staff
Assist with scheduling study visits and follow-up participants who do not attend their study visits
Assist with stock take in the study clinic
Prepare research-related reports/presentations, as requested
Required minimum education and training:
Professional Nurse (or similar) with formal training or experience conducting clinical research
Required minimum work experience and abilities:
Registration with the South African Nurses Council
At least 2 years of prior experience in clinical research
Spoken and written fluency in English and IsiZulu or Sesotho
Training in good clinical practice
A can-do attitude and ability to work independently
Good problem-solving skills
Good organizational, management, and communications skills
Good computer literacy, writing, and presentation skills
Desirable additional education, work experience and personal abilities:
Clinical experience providing womens sexual and reproductive health services (e.g., Pap smear screening, STI screening, family planning)
Willingness to work overtime/weekends
