Render support to research personnel to ensure successful completion of project.
Assist in training of extension officers, farmers and other stakeholders.
Assist in coordinating of work activities and supervises allocated resources, if applicable.
Adhere to financial administrative control.
Plan own work activities.
Utilise and maintain facilities, material and equipment.
Collect, capture and process data with basis analysis.
Provide verbal and written reports on work activities and results.
Ensure dateline are met through effective distribution of tasks.
Comply with all occupational health and safety regulations.
Assist in the preparation for presentations.
Assist in optimising of equipment, processes, and systems.
Assist to publish semi-scientific and peer-reviewed reports/articles.
Assist with technology transfer.
Diploma, BSc or BTech in Entomology, Crop Production, Crop Protection, or relevant agricultural qualification.
Previous experience on technology transfer to subsistence and small-scale farmers will be an advantage.
Previous experience with pests, especially fruit flies on subtropical crops will be an advantage.
Knowledge of integrated pest and disease management will be an advantage.
Previous experience with planning of chemical trial layout and statistical analysis of results will be an advantage.
Ability to do physical work outside in the field, glass house and laboratory.
Ability to liaise with researchers on project progress and participation pertaining to research activities.
Ability to work independently and in a team.
Good communication skills verbal and written.
Computer literacy and proficiency in the MS office suite.
