Conduct independent research on climate variability/change and agriculture.
Conduct technology transfer activities related to climate variability/change in the agricultural sector.
Contribute towards development and updating of climate services for the agricultural sector.
Prepare and submit winning project proposals in collaboration with other scientists to research funders.
Publish articles in peer-reviewed journals, newsletters, conference proceedings and other media.

PhD in Agrometeorology/Meteorology/Agriculture/Environmental Sciences.
Proven ability to conduct and supervise climate variability/change research.
Proficiency in R, Matlab, Python or other scientific programming language.
The candidate must have a proven research background in agriculture- and climate-related disciplines.
Good publication record in climate variability/change.
Track record of attracting externally funded research projects.
Ability to work with communities.
Willingness to travel away from home for intermediate periods.
Good communication skills (written and verbal).
Valid drivers license (code 08/EB).
