Support the design and implementation of research projects, with a focus on projects relating to sexual and reproductive health, and STI's and quantitative data analysis
Location:

Key performance areas:
Develop research and program evaluation protocols
Develop research and program evaluation tools
Write, review, and/or approve SOPs
Obtain approval from relevant ethics and other regulatory bodies
Supervise fieldwork (data collection, interviews, etc.) and where necessary conduct data collection
Ensure quality data management
Monitor the progress of research projects
Conduct literature reviews and stay abreast with relevant research findings
Write progress reports as per project reporting requirements
Conduct data analysis according to the agreed data analysis plan
Write up relevant project and research results
Collaborate with other investigators on related studies and evaluations
Write or contribute to peer-reviewed publications (2 per year)
Write or contribute to conference presentations
Disseminate research findings internally and externally including presentations at research days and conferences
Coach and train team members to ensure the acquisition of knowledge and skills required by the organization
Contribute towards the development of knowledge within the team by identifying relevant training needs and topics
Develop relevant training material and presentations
Conduct ad hoc research training interventions
Participate and actively contribute to research forums
Participate actively in fora as required
Promote harmony, teamwork, and sharing of information
Take ownership and accountability for tasks and demonstrate effective self-management.
Follow through to ensure that quality and productivity standards of own work are consistently and accurately maintained
Maintain a positive attitude and respond openly to feedback
Take ownership of driving own career development by attending training and development sessions and relevant forums/meeting
Maintain and update knowledge of developments in the field and expertise
Required minimum education and training:
Masters Degree in an appropriate discipline
Proficiency in Microsoft Office
Excellent verbal and written skills
Demonstrated publication record
Demonstrated experience with quantitative data collection and proficiency in quantitative data analysis
Required minimum work experience:
Minimum 3 to 5 years of research experience in a public health or related field
Desirable additional education, work experience, and personal abilities:
Certification in good clinical practice
Proven technical expertise in the chosen discipline
Demonstrated experience in implementing research projects
Able to work under pressure and adhere to deadlines
Self-motivated, able to work independently and work as part of a multidisciplinary team
Assertive, confident, and adaptable
