Reservationist

As our Reservationist, you will ensure that reservations are maximised through booking, daily follow-up, and confirmation, thereby ensuring maximum room revenue for the Hotel.
As one of the Rooms Division Departments, we strive to give our Guests a WOW experience by exceeding their expectations through warm, friendly, and personalised service, consistency of product, and care for their well-being throughout their stay. We strive to operate a cost-effective department by maximising sales and limiting expenses.
You willplan the daily work schedule and ensure that all booking enquiries are dealt with timely and accurately, as well as that all member-specific tasks are accurately processed and completed.
Part of your role will be to assist in achieving the minimum monthly prescribed targets and ensure booking revenue is maximised, and no unnecessary revenue is lost.
You will demonstrate a strong team support ethic, keep abreast of activities/offerings within the Hotel, and attempt to upsell these to guests. Creating all bookings according to the procedures in Opera, linking the correct corporate company/agency to bookings, and ensuring detailed billing instructions are added to the booking upon creation will be part of your responsibilities.
You have a Matric Certificate with a Hotel Management diploma or degree and experience in a similar position in a similar 4*/5* establishment. You have an understanding of revenue management as well as of how to implement yield management principles. You are computer literate, including MS Office and Opera, and have basic accounting skills. The ability to work shifts will see you far in this role.
Youre neat and professional, with excellent communication skills. You have product knowledge of the hotel industry and the city, and you work to the highest standards of ethical conduct.
