• Lead and manage geotechnical aspects of major road projects, ensuring compliance with project specifications, timelines, and budgets.
• Coordinate with multidisciplinary teams, including civil engineers, project managers, and contractors, to ensure seamless project execution.
• Conduct detailed geotechnical investigations, including soil sampling, testing, and analysis.
• Interpret geotechnical data to provide recommendations for foundation design, slope stability, earthworks, and other geotechnical aspects.
• Develop and review geotechnical designs and plans for road construction projects.
• Oversee the implementation of geotechnical solutions, ensuring adherence to design specifications and industry standards.
• Implement quality control measures to ensure the integrity and performance of geotechnical elements.
• Conduct site inspections and audits to verify compliance with geotechnical design and construction standards.
• Prepare comprehensive geotechnical reports, including investigation findings, analysis, and recommendations.
• Provide technical guidance and support to project teams on geotechnical matters, identifying and resolving issues that arise during the construction process.

Requirements

• B.Sc Eng / B.Eng / B.Tech Eng qualification in Civil / Geotechnical Engineering
• Must be Pr.Eng / Pr.Tech Eng registered
• Minimum 20 years' relevant geotechnical experience on major road projects
• SANRAL roads experience
• Strong project management skills with the ability to oversee multiple projects simultaneously
• Proficient in geotechnical software and tools for analysis and design
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for effective collaboration with team members, clients, and stakeholders
• Demonstrated problem-solving abilities to address complex geotechnical challenges
• Comprehensive knowledge of industry standards and regulations related to geotechnical engineering and road construction.
